Gerry Lopez Pipeline Mastrs is the final contest of the 2001
Vans Triple Crown of Surfing. This pioneer event of proffesional
surfing was founded in 1971, by water sports enthusiast Fred
Hemmings and is the longest running proffesional surfing
competition in the United States. Sanctioned by the Association
of Surfing Proffesionals (ASP) as a speciality invitational
event on the 2001 ASP World Tour.
